Professor of Chemical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University

Turning catalyst complexity into chemical insight
Yu-Chuan Lin received his BS and MS degrees from National Cheng Kung University and completed his PhD on catalytic partial oxidation at Kansas State University in 2006. His postdoctoral research at Academia Sinica and the University of Massachusetts Amherst focused on biomass conversion.
After joining Yuan Ze University in 2009, he returned to NCKU in 2014 and was promoted to Professor in 2022. His group develops heterogeneous catalysts for energy applications and waste utilization, with particular emphasis on dynamic active sites, methane and carbon dioxide conversion, and data-guided catalyst discovery.
He serves in editorial and professional roles across the catalysis community and contributes to the Taiwan Catalysis Society and Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council.
